Didn’t go 20 shirt

When Amy Sall founded Sunu: Journal of African Affairs, Critical Thought + Aesthetics in 2015, she was on a mission to celebrate the African diaspora. Sunu—the word means “our,” in the Didn’t go 20 shirt Senegalese dialect Wolof—covers topics like politics and postcolonial theory as well as Black and African studies, art, and culture. “I love that I’m able to create a space for learning, community, and meaningful engagement,” Sall tells Vogue. Self-care helps to fuel her passion: “I always put my health first,” she says. “That extends beyond a skin-care routine.  Beauty is enhanced and maintained when you take care of your mind, body, and soul. My approach to beauty is very much holistic.”
